Welcome to an album of photos I took at the 2005 Reno National Air Races, Stead Airport, Reno, Nevada.
All of these photos were taken on Friday, Sept. 16, 2005 during a day of Heat races and air show exhibitions. The final races took place on Sunday, 9/18/2005. Results have been added where appropriate as an update.

Dreadnaught 8 Sea Fury w/ P&W R-4320
Dreadnaught was the only Sea Fury with the monster Pratt & Whitney 28 cylinder "Corn Cob" engine. This engine was used in the B-29 and the Corsair (see the Super Corsair elsewhere here). She qualified 2nd fast at 452.5 mph behind Rare Bear. And up thru Sat. has come in 2nd in each Gold heat behind Rare Bear. Update: For 2005 Dreadnaught came home 2nd in the Gold at a speed of 448.8 mph.
